Funder’s Circle: Non-Profit Focus

Recent studies have shown a $20 million racial funding gap between Black-led and white-led early-stage non-profit organizations in the United States. Locally, we’ve seen that Black-led organizations in the Kansas City area have not had equitable access to funding opportunities. As our communities continue to grapple with the impacts of health and economic crisis, and racial and environmental injustice, we must find ways to increase these funding opportunities for Black leaders and communities who need them most.

Join BXKC for our next Rebuild Honestly open forum event featuring non-profit leaders from Hadley Project, Health Forward Foundation and Black Community Fund. Panelists will discuss the evolution of funding for community organizations in Kansas City and provide insights on how organizations should approach and prepare for funding opportunities.

Date: August 17th

Time: Keystone Sessions 4pm – 8pm (BXKC panel will start at 7pm)

Location: Keystone Innovation District

Featured panelists:

  • Drew Eanes – Hadley Project
  • Jason Williams – Health Forward Foundation
  • NaTika Rowles – Black Community Fund
